The Henry C. Beebe GAR Post in Richmond, Michigan, was named in honor of Henry C. Beebe who enlisted in Company A, 5th Michigan Cavalry, serving from August 26, 1862 to November 28, 1863, when he died of wounds received in action at Morton's Ford, Virginia, on November 27, 1863.
